Possums are persistent critters - sadly, all of our chickens are gone. We will be rebuilding a possum and coon proof coop and restocking our birds in the future.

The day after after signing the papers on the farm, Jeanette and I went to the feed store and ordered 50 mixed fancy chicks. We really only wanted eggs and maybe the occasional decorative feather, but found it hard to resist the funny looking, fluffy headed Polish and the oddly colored eggs of the Auracana.

We also bought them to help around the farm. They turn the manure for us and eat a lot of bugs and, for the more part, we let ‘em have the run of the place.

...are a great source of eggs and entertainment.
